Digger

Digger is a young adult/upper middle grade western adventure with a sci-fi throughline, set in the high desert of eastern Oregon.

Seventh grader Kenny Ford is extremely short of stature. Rage and shame at frequent bullying drive him to the sagebrush hills above his small eastern Oregon town. When he finds a fossil egg and it hatches, the small burrowing dinosaur takes him for its mother, leading Kenny to find new allies and new courage in his commitment to protect the dinosaur known as Digger.
